The question around Oneness and if we are all part of One even if in this moment we are experiencing separation to understand Oneness from another perspective is a question that lives in my mind constantly. I find the feeling of feeling part of everything wholesome and comforting.
Keeping this in mind, it's only natural that, when I heard the speech from Astrophysicist Neal DeGrasse Tyson, I was moved to tears and I didn't have any other choice that to translate it into art as best as I could.

Here is the texte that I transcribed into this drawing made with a fountain pen.
"(…) You feel insignificant because you enter the room
with an unjustifiably high ego to begin with.
If instead you enter the room with no ego at all,
then all of this knowledge (of Cosmos) is uplifting
in the following way:
What is ego if not, "I'm different from you in this particular way,
therefore it makes me better".
Well, the cosmic perspective shows that you're the same.
We have 40% DNA identical with a yeast cell. When you realize that,
You come to the conclusion and recognition THAT WE ARE NOT
SEPARATE AND DISTINCT FROM THE BIOSPHERE, WE ARE PARTICIPANTS
IN THIS GREAT UNFOLDING STORY OF LIFE.
Can that be uplifting? To me it is.
What I've learned is that I'M THE SAME AS THE TREES, AS THE GRASS,
AS THE OTHER ANIMALS IN THIS BIOSPHERE HELD BY EARTH,
I'M NOT SEPARATE AND APART FROM THEM, I'M THE SAME.
I'm uplifted because I'm the same, not because I'm different.
The atoms of your body are traceable to stars that manufactured
Them in the core - in the crucible - of the thermonuclear fusion
Inside the cores of stars. And these stars exploded, scattered
These elements across the galaxy into the next generation
Gas clouds that then collapsed, formed stars systems
With ingredients that can now make planets, with planets
That now have ingredients that can now make life.
We are alive in this universe and because our atoms are traceable
To the universe itself, THE UNIVERSE IS ALIVE WITHIN US.
You are special not because you're different
from the UNIVERSE, you're special because
YOU'RE THE SAME AS THE UNIVERSE.
To me, that borders on spiritual. We are not figuratively,
But literally, STARDUST."
What do you think about this speech? Do you agree with the concept of Oneness?
I hope you love the content fo this text as much as I do.
Until next time, Laura
